I was greeted this morning with the sad news of Jon Toigo’s death last week.
Jon was an enthusiastic and highly supportive judge of the Tech Trailblazers (as he was of everything we did) from the get-go and a great friend for much, much longer.
He was full of life and it was always a pleasure to snatch some time with him. We enjoyed his and his wife Margaret’s hospitality at their home in Tampa Bay on a number of occasions including my son’s initiation to “trick or treating” US-style and Jon and I shared some great laughs while “working” – one of note was in Slovenia on a press trip, especially the running joke of the abysmal coffee served at the hotel (It was truly awful coffee!). One fond worky memory is the @Storageunpacked podcast we did with Gavin McLaughlin a year or so ago about the Tech Trailblazers awards.
Jon (Centre – of course!) and I at Storage Unplugged with Enrico Signoretti, Martin Glassborow and Chris Evans
Generous, out-spoken, witty and always someone I looked forward to spending time with.

Our thoughts are with Margaret, his kids and family at this very sad time.
Goodbye Jon and thank you for everything!
